The Florida Gators are sports teams that hail from the famous University of Florida located in Gainesville. The Southeastern Conference has ranked this University best overall in sports for over twenty years and all teams from this University play in the NCAA Division I.
The Gators have a long list of successful sports that both males and females play. The male teams play in football, baseball, basketball, tennis, cross country, golf, swimming, diving and track. The females play in basketball, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, diving, tennis, cross country, gymnastics, volleyball and lacrosse.
All teams play on campus with various stadiums and facilities. The Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is the home of Gator football is often referred to as ‘The Swamp’. It is the eleventh largest college football stadium and usually reaches attendance of over 90,000 persons. The O’Connell Center is home for Gator basketball and gymnastics; it also hosts the aquatic teams, track and volleyball. The other outdoor sports are located throughout University of Florida’s campus.
Fans of the Gators are a large part of the sport community. Camps, appearances, birthday clubs, kids clubs, emails and texts keep fans updated and connected to the Gator sport community. The Gator Growl is the nation largest pep rally that includes famous guests and musical acts.
