Quite arguably the hardest worker in the NBA today is small forward Joakim Noah. Currently playing for the Chicago bulls, Noah has become one of the most interesting players to join the NBA. With an American father and Swedish mother, he definitely stands out from the rest of his teammates and competitors. Just like the 2005 Florida team, they all showed a sense of confidence and hard work. The team had the right amount of talent, with the perfect system. The Gators were by no means lucky that year, and they were definitely the talk of the country during the NCAA tournament. Al Horford is now an all-star center for the Atlanta Hawks and he also played a vital role during the Gator’s championship runs.

These two players will forever be embedded in the history of the Gators and they are now making their own names in the NBA. Within the next few years there will be a new generation of Gators to burst onto the NBA scene.

Coach Donovan is a great teacher and through his instructions the kids become highly intelligent basketball players. This helps them their first goal of winning the SEC championship and the second goal of competing and hopefully winning the National championship.

If you look at the top ten recruiting classes every year, Florida is in that list. Coach Donovan’s Florida Gators are typically in the top 5 list of every major recruit that they are involved with. The Southeastern Conference has ranked this University best overall in sports for over twenty years and all teams from this University play in the NCAA Division I.

The Gators have a long list of successful sports that both males and females play. The male teams play in football, baseball, basketball, tennis, cross country, golf, swimming, diving and track. The females play in basketball, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, diving, tennis, cross country, gymnastics, volleyball and lacrosse.

All teams play on campus with various stadiums and facilities. The Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is the home of Gator football is often referred to as ‘The Swamp’. It is the eleventh largest college football stadium and usually reaches attendance of over 90,000 persons. The O’Connell Center is home for Gator basketball and gymnastics; it also hosts the aquatic teams, track and volleyball. The other outdoor sports are located throughout University of Florida’s campus.

Fans of the Gators are a large part of the sport community. Camps, appearances, birthday clubs, kids clubs, emails and texts keep fans updated and connected to the Gator sport community. The Gator Growl is the nation largest pep rally that includes famous guests and musical acts.

The starting lineup of Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Taurean Green, Lee Humphrey, and Corey Brewer weren’t world beaters during the 2005-2006 campaign, but they banded together at the right time and played their best basketball when the stakes were high, going on an incredible run in the NCAA tournament, leaving no doubt as to whom was the best team in college basketball. Even after achieving the ultimate team accomplishment, all the underclassmen on the team returned the following year with the goal of winning another national championship. This time around, in the 2006-2007 season, there was no doubt all season long as to whom the kings of college basketball were. It was the Florida Gators; winning championships, and doing so the right way.
